Glasnost Gone

My short video illustrating the wholesale destruction wrought by Russian artillery on the village of Pisky. Village sits on the front line opposite the Russian occupied city of Donetsk and its nearby airport. Bulk of shelling took place during 2014/15 when Russian forces were trying to capture the airport and advance beyond the city. Pisky still suffers routine shelling, hence it’s just not safe for people to live there anymore.

Before the Russian shells started landing, some 2,000 men, women and children lived there. Today, all put a handful of mostly elderly people remain.
