Held by Ukraine, the towns located on the edge of the Russian occupied city of Donetsk.

As a consequence, for the last 4 years, Avdiivka and defensive positions around it, have been mercilessly shelled by Russian forces. This large industrial area, was once filled with businesses large and small and offered employment to large numbers of people living in the area. As you can see, it’s been obliterated.

The brutal knock-on effect of this, is a dramatic reduction in employment choices for those living in the conflict area, which forces people and famines to move away, leaving ever more elderly living in front line towns and villages.
