Glasnost Gone

Today’s OSCE report makes for interesting reading. Another Cargo 200 van seen carrying dead Russian soldiers and mercenaries back to the motherland. Cargo 200 (Gruz 200) is a the term used by Russian military, to denote the transportation of dead soldiers. Header pic shows Cargo 200 truck leaving Ukraine in 2014.

On the border itself, Russian led soldiers continue on from last week in ordering the OSCE to leave the area. More worrying, Russia’s now closing Ukrainian border crossings to civilian traffic. Novoazovsk crossing is down on the south coast, on the Mariupol front, leading to Crimea.

So, with ongoing talk of a UN Peacekeeping Mission deployment, is Russia pulling its army out of Ukraine, or simply sending more stuff in? I’ll keep you posted.
