To most people, trolls are merely an annoyance.
Trolls, however, serve a very precise purpose for Russia.
They suppress opposing opinions and overwhelmingly promote Russian ideas, candidates, and programs.
We are seeing them pop up and supporting Le Pen, Russia’s preferred candidate in France. Now we are seeing the same in Sweden.
Again, as in the US elections, we don’t feel that trolls are very effective, but, without quantifiable studies, we just do not know.
